Research in isolated and confined environments (e.g., Antarctica, submarines, space simulators, on-orbit space missions) can inform us about small group process.  Psychosocial findings from such settings will be reviewed, and their relevance for group therapy will be discussed in terms of group stages, leadership, cultural effects, and displacement.
