Presidential Plenary Address

At the Core: How We Steer Our Course
Robert Klein, Ph.D., CGP, FAGPA

AGPA has evolved over the past sixty years from a small neophyte organization of mental health professionals to a complex, tri-partite organization. Our mission is multi-faceted, ranging from promoting the education, care and development of our own members, to contributing to the significant public health initiatives that arose from the ashes of September 11, 2001. What guides the choices we make as an organization? This presentation will focus on how we formulate our objectives, determine our priorities, make decisions and, insure as best we can, that we are pursuing that which is meaningful and essential, not veering drastically off course.

Dr. Robert Klein is in Private Practice and is Clinical Associate Professor at Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. Dr. Klein is co-author of Group Psychotherapy for Psychological Trauma and co-editor of the Handbook of Contemporary Group Psychotherapy.
