The Use of Stage Theory
from a Developmental Perspective
Chair:
Paul Kaye, Ph.D., CGP, Private Practice, Huntington Woods,
Michigan
Participants will be provided with a conceptual model of
understanding the specific developmental tasks associated with each
stage in the group's life cycle with emphasis on the therapist's
role in facilitating both individual and group-as-a-whole task
mastery within a developmental framework. Each participant will be
asked to present a clinical vignette from their group work (long or
short term group) and explore from a developmental perspective.
