Workshop 7
“Here & Now and There & Then” - Paradoxes Present in Group Psychotherapy

Chair:

Robert Carlson, M.Div., M.S.W., CGP, President, Centering Point

Psychotherapy, Seattle & Bellevue, Washington

Existential paradoxes and dilemmas are present in psychodynamic groups. The dialectic tension between attachment and autonomy, longing and loss, perception and projection, along with other polarities, present challenges for even experienced clinicians.  In this experiential workshop we will explore helpful perspectives for group psychotherapists from philosophy and relational psychoanalysis.
