Workshop 79a
Working with a Group of Couples: Issues and Challenges

Chair:

Rene Marineau, Ph.D., Professor of Psychology, University of Quebec, Quebec, Canada

This didactic workshop will use a movie made by J. L. Moreno around 1948 and based on an actual case treated through psychodrama. In the course of the work, sociodrama, psychodrama and playback theatre techniques will be used to demonstrate the complexities of the work when one deals with couples. Participants will take the roles of husband, wife and lover in addition to being the therapist and psychodramatist. Using the movie as a warm-up and a back drop, the eternal issue of the triangle in therapy will be address from different perspectives including values, theory, approach and techniques.
