Workshop 95
Harm Reduction Group Treatment of Substance Abuse and Dual Diagnosis

Chair:

Jeannie Little, M.S.W., CGP, Executive Director, Harm Reduction Therapy

Center, San Francisco, California

Harm Reduction Psychotherapy is a radical new paradigm in treating addiction.  It integrates evidence-based treatment models and neurobiological understanding of the interplay between alcohol, drugs, and mental/emotional illness into a psychodynamic treatment relationship. This workshop demonstrates how harm reduction therapy groups can work with ambivalence, resistance, diversity in addictive patterns, and incremental change in addictive behavior.
