Be It Ever So Humble...The Controversial Issue of Group Psychotherapy in the Home Office Setting

Presenter:

Robert S. Pepper, CSW, Ph.D., CGP, Adjunct Professor of Behavioral Science, New York Institute of Technology, New York, New York

Group leaders who have home offices may be disclosing more about their personal lives than they consciously intend. While the home office may be convenient and financially advantageous for the leader, this disclosure can be problematic for both the group therapist and group members. This open session will examine the clinical and ethical implications of the home office setting. Vignettes will be presented.

Learning Objectives:

The attendee will be able to:

1. Analyze the three most significant dangers of the home office setting.
2. Identity the clinical and ethical implications of the home office.
3. Judge the cost/benefit equation of the home office.
