This is the fourth Open Session offering a series of papers on issues and processes surrounding group development/intervention in counseling centers. Four new papers by experienced mental health professionals who work in the student-counseling venue will provide information and problem solving discussion about group psychotherapy program development and practice.

 

Learning Objectives:

The attendee will be able to:
1. Utilize a developmental co-leadership approach for group training and supervision.
2. Develop a basic understanding of the CORE-R and the Practice Guidelines for Group Psychotherapy and how to utilize them in a college counseling center.
3. Explore and understand barriers and identify best group practices for effective group therapy practice with persons of color.
4. Develop appropriate group interventions for diverse community needs and relationships.
