The Group and the Other: An Intense Exposure to Lacanian Theory and its Application to the Psychoanalytic Group

This workshop is designed for those interested in getting a challenging but still friendly introduction to the basics of Lacanian theory and its application to the work with the psychoanalytic group. It will be an intense exposure to the basic concepts and hands on application in the clinic.

Learning Objectives:

The attendee will be able to:
1. Identify a basic list of central concepts of Lacanian theory.
2. Define these concepts and contrast them with similar concepts from other theories such as object relations and self psychology.
3. See a demonstration of Lacanian principles applied to the work with the group.
