Sexual Desire, Intimacy and Love Conflicts Resolved Through Couples Group Therapy

Disorders of sexual desire, problems with intimacy, communication, commitment and love are ubiquitous. Through group role play, experiential, sharing, and didactic material, this workshop will explore dyadic causes of these problems and demonstrate techniques to resolve them. We identify and prepare appropriate couples for group therapy and demonstrate couples group therapy.

Learning Objectives

The attendee will be able to:
1. Participants will learn to identify those couples which need conjoint couple therapy and those which will be better served by couples group therapy.
2. Participants will be able to describe the major dyadic causes of disorders of sexual desire.
3. Participants will be able to evaluate and prepare couples for couples group.
4. Experience empathic collaborative relating in groups.
