How to Teach the Principles of Group Psychotherapy Course

This workshop will provide a format for participants to prepare to teach the Principles of Group Psychotherapy course using the AGPA course curriculum.  Various formats for teaching will be explored, as well as effective teaching methods and approaches.  The five modules will be reviewed and adaptation of the general course to particular settings will be considered.  Participants are encouraged to bring a copy of the Principles manual for reference.  Manuals will be available at the Conference for purchase.

Learning Objectives:

The attendee will be able to:
1. Review the 5 modules of the Principles of Group Psychotherapy course and get ideas for different ways to teach this introductory course to specific populations
2. Develop a sense of what tools are available to make the learning process useful and comprehensive for the students at various levels of experience.
3.Share experiences in developing the course for staff or private populations
