This open session offers several papers on various topics and processes surrounding group interventions in college counseling centers. Four short presentations by experienced mental health professionals who work in the student counseling venue will provide information and elicit problem solving discussion about group psychotherapy program development.   

 

Learning Objectives:

The attendee will be able to:

1. Develop appropriate and culturally sensitive group approaches to working with Asian American and Asian international students.
2. Address the need for providing a social skills group and discuss the success of running these groups collaboratively with disability services in a university setting.
3. Discuss modifications made in facilitating DBT groups in college counseling centers.
4. Identify components of training and the co-leader approach to supervision of group work.
